An Immigrant’s Diary, part 9

We woke up from people walking and riding bikes right above us. It definitely was a crazy experience I will never forget. We spent the whole day on the beach and had to return. Every day I felt like something squeezes my heart tighter and tighter. That day was getting closer and I could smell it, I could feel it and I couldn’t make myself stop thinking of it and just enjoy our time together while we have it.

A couple of days went by. We took a big red bus and it was awesome! We also went to see the Statue Of Liberty that turned out a bit smaller than I expected. We went up the Empire State Building, all the way to the top, the view was magnificent! What an amazing, beautiful city it was!

After one of my shifts at that Italian Cafe Konrad came over to pick me up and said he had a surprise. We took a subway and he would tell me where we were going. We had to walk for a while until we finally made it to to the Brooklyn Bridge. The look of it was breath-taking. It was already late and the lights were on. We walked, talked, sat on one of the benches. I was so tired after work and wanted to sleep but I didn’t want to miss out on any second we had left. We ended up falling asleep on the bench, crazy young kids.

I had the time of my life.

Tomorrow Konrad flies back home…
